For Mrs Reddy, property development was never just about building houses. It was about creating opportunities for families, contributing to her community, and honouring a family legacy that began decades before she started her business.

Based in Nacovi, Sonaisali, Nadi, Mrs Reddy is the owner of Peri’s Sunset Homes and Peri’s Sunset Construction. In 2023, she embarked on her journey to develop quality housing for families in Fiji. What began as a vision quickly grew into a significant development project as she commenced the subdivision of her family land, transforming approximately eight acres into 28 residential lots under the Peri’s Sunset Homes development.

As a female entrepreneur entering the property development industry, she understood that the journey would come with challenges. However, with the support of Merchant Finance, she was able to confidently pursue her goals.

“From the beginning, Merchant Finance supported my vision. I never felt underestimated or looked down upon because I was a woman. Instead, I felt encouraged and supported throughout the journey.”

Today, she continues to grow her portfolio through Peri’s Sunset Construction, which manages her ongoing development projects. Mrs Reddy is currently constructing a townhouse development consisting of five units, with each unit offering two bedrooms. Construction commenced in July and is progressing well with the support of her dedicated team, including skilled workers from Bangladesh who have played a key role in delivering quality workmanship.

The story behind the name Peri’s Sunset Homes holds special meaning for her family. The development is situated on land that originally belonged to her late father-in-law, Permal Reddy, affectionately known as “Peri.” The original property consisted of 10 acres, with one acre reserved for the family home and the remaining land later developed into residential lots.

Back in 1982, Permal dreamed of subdividing and developing the property. He made two attempts to begin the process, but both applications were unsuccessful. At the time, he lacked the support, knowledge, and resources needed to bring the project to life, and eventually the dream was set aside.

Years later, while beginning her own subdivision journey, she discovered old documents and letters stored away in a box. These records detailed her father-in-law’s efforts to develop the land many years earlier.

“When I found those documents, I knew I wanted to complete what he had started. This project became more than my dream. It became a way to honour his dream as well.”

To preserve his memory and legacy, Mrs Reddy and her husband chose to name the development Peri’s Sunset Homes, ensuring that his vision would live on for future generations.

Alongside her residential developments, she has also ventured into the hospitality sector. Located within the Peri’s Sunset Homes property is a three-bedroom villa that operates as an Airbnb accommodation. The villa has proven exceptionally popular and is already fully booked for the remainder of the year, reflecting the strong demand for quality accommodation in the area. Encouraged by this success, she is planning to construct additional villas to meet the growing demand from both local and international visitors.

Looking ahead, Mrs Reddy has even bigger plans. Her next major project is a 10-bedroom apartment development, which has already been sold before completion. Construction is currently underway and is expected to be completed by February 2027, when the apartments will be ready for tenants.

In addition to her property development, construction, and accommodation ventures, she recently expanded her entrepreneurial journey by launching a professional cleaning services business just two months ago, further diversifying her growing portfolio.

For Mrs Reddy, the success of Peri’s Sunset Homes is a reflection of hard work, perseverance, family support, and the blessings of those who came before her. What started as a vision to provide better homes has evolved into a thriving business with multiple developments in progress and many more planned for the future.
