TISA Insurance (Fiji) Limited and Merchant Finance Pte Limited have taken another significant step in their ongoing strategic collaboration, formalising an agreement to introduce Loan Protection Insurance (LPI) for eligible Merchant Finance personal loan customers.
The agreement, signed in Suva today, builds on the partnership that enabled customers to access a range of insurance solutions alongside their financing needs, creating greater convenience and opportunities for financial protection.
The latest development extends this relationship beyond traditional asset protection, introducing an insurance solution designed to provide greater financial security for borrowers and their families during unforeseen circumstances.
Under the arrangement, Merchant Finance will facilitate access to TISA Insurance’s Loan Protection Insurance for eligible unsecured personal loan customers. Subject to the applicable policy terms and conditions, the insurance is designed to provide protection against the outstanding insured loan balance in the event of a borrower’s death, helping to reduce the financial obligations that may otherwise remain during an already difficult period.
David Ariff Chan, Chief Executive Officer of TISA Insurance (Fiji) Limited, said the agreement reflects the importance of building partnerships that deliver meaningful and practical benefits to customers.
“At TISA Insurance, we believe insurance should serve a meaningful purpose in people’s lives. It is about providing security, building confidence and ensuring that individuals and families have the protection they need when circumstances change.
“Our relationship with Merchant Finance has always been built on a shared commitment to making financial services more accessible and relevant to our communities. This next phase of our partnership reflects that commitment, bringing together lending and insurance solutions in a way that supports the financial wellbeing of Fijians.
“As the community’s insurer, we recognise that our responsibility extends beyond providing insurance policies. It is about building trusted relationships, understanding the needs of the people we serve and working alongside partners who share our vision for a more financially secure Fiji.”
Veilawa Rereiwasaliwa, Chief Executive Officer of Merchant Finance, highlighted the value of strengthening the organisation’s existing relationship with TISA Insurance.
“Our partnership with TISA Insurance continues to evolve in response to the changing needs of our customers. Access to finance is an important part of helping individuals and families achieve their goals, and we equally recognise the importance of ensuring that appropriate protection is available alongside those financial commitments.
“Through this agreement, we are strengthening the support available to our personal loan customers and reinforcing our commitment to delivering financial solutions that are both accessible and responsible.”
The initiative also reflects the growing importance of collaboration between financial institutions and insurers in supporting financial inclusion, customer awareness and long-term financial resilience.
For TISA Insurance, the agreement represents another step in its commitment to delivering accessible, customer-focused insurance solutions through strategic partnerships, while continuing to build on its longstanding presence and service to communities across Fiji and the wider Pacific.
Both organizations reaffirmed their shared commitment to strengthening the partnership and exploring opportunities that deliver sustainable value and meaningful financial protection to their customers.
