Job Description

We are seeking a competent and robust individual who will be responsible for ensuring accuracy, integrity, and timely delivery of Merchant Finance’s financial accounting, statutory reporting, tax compliance, and general ledger operations.

Responsibilities include:

  • Lead month-end and year-end financial close operations; prepare accurate management account sand financial statements in compliance with IFRS/IAS.
  • Compile and submit monthly, and quarterly prudential returns to the Reserve Bank of Fiji (RBF); manage end-to-end FRCS tax fillings (VAT, Withholding Tax and Corporate Tax).
  • Perform and review balance sheet, bank and sub-ledger reconciliations, ensuring prompt resolution of variances.
  • Analyse financial variances against budgets, monitor daily liquidity, and prepare short-to medium-term cash flow forecasts.
  • Serve as a primary liaison for internal and external auditors, enforce delegated authority levels, and optimise core financial processes.

To be considered, you must meet the following requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field from a recognized university.
  • Full member of or actively progressing toward membership with CPA Australia, or an equivalent recognized body.
  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years of progressive experience in financial accounting, preferably within a chartered accounting firm or financial services firm.
  • Strong proficiency in IFRS/IAS, Fiji tax regulations (FRCS), and RBF regulatory frameworks. Advanced skills in MS Excel and experience with core accounting systems are highly advantageous.
