Job Description

The Learning & Development Officer is responsible for managing and driving staff learning, engagement and succession planning initiatives across the organisation under the guidance of the HR Business Partner. This role ensures employees are equipped with the right skills, development opportunities and support to perform effectively and grow within the organisation. The L&D Officer will take ownership of learning programs, training needs assessments and succession planning processes, providing insights and recommendations to improve staff capability and organizational performance.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Manage employee learning and development programs, including internal and external training sessions, workshops and seminars.
  • Conduct onboarding and induction programs for new employees.
  • Maintain and track staff training records, attendance, completion and effectiveness.
  • Implement and manage staff engagement initiatives, recognition programs and wellbeing activities.
  • Conduct training needs assessments to identify skill gaps and development priorities.
  • Support succession planning by identifying high-potential employees and tracking development plans.
  • Provide guidance to managers on career development, learning opportunities and staff capability building.
  • Develop and implement the annual training and engagement plan.
  • Coordinate logistics for training sessions, workshops and employee events.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and recommend improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with mandatory training requirements and company policies.

To be considered, you must meet the following requirements:

  • Minimum 2–3 years’ experience in HR, learning & development, or training coordination.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Education, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of learning and development principles, staff engagement strategies and succession planning.
  • Experience conducting training needs assessments and designing development programs.
  • Strong organizational, time management and reporting skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
