Job Description
Merchant Finance Pte Limited (MFL) is seeking a highly experienced and strategic professional to join our team as Manager Internal Audit. This role provides independent assurance on the effectiveness of MFL’s governance, risk management and internal control systems, while leading and developing the Audit Department.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Developing and periodically reviewing the Internal Audit Charter, Internal Audit Policy and Procedure Manual, and related guidelines in line with the International Professional Practice Framework.
Developing and implementing internal audit programs to evaluate internal controls, risk management practices, and compliance with Reserve Bank of Fiji regulatory requirements.
Leading and executing audit engagements across operational, financial, credit, IT, AML/CFT, governance and compliance areas.
Monitoring and reporting on the implementation status of audit recommendations and areas requiring improvement.
Developing the annual risk-based Internal Audit Plan and presenting it for Board Audit, Risk & Governance Subcommittee’s approval.
Identifying opportunities to enhance audit practices and drive continuous improvement across the organisation.
Providing independent insights on emerging risks, control weaknesses, regulatory changes, and governance enhancements.
Strengthening Organisational integrity by promoting accountability, transparency, and a strong control environment.
Championing a culture of continuous learning within the Audit Team through coaching, guidance, and professional development support.
Leveraging data-driven insights to enhance audit quality, decision-making, and risk identification.
To be considered, you must meet the following requirements:
At least 7 years’ experience in internal audit or a similar role, preferably within the financial services or banking sector.
Strong understanding of RBF Prudential Standards, internal controls, risk management, credit processes and AML/CFT requirements.
Demonstrated experience in leading audit teams and delivering complex audits.
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or a related field.
Professional membership such as FICA, CPA or equivalent is preferred.
Knowledge of data analytics, governance frameworks, GRC, project management, fraud and change management models.
Certification in audit, risk or compliance is an advantage.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication and report-writing skills.
