About Us

At Merchant Finance Pte Limited (Merchant Finance), we take pride in our journey of growth and commitment to serving Fijians with reliable financial solutions. Established in 1986 through a partnership involving the Australian Guarantee Corporation (AGC), International Finance Corporation (IFC), and the Fiji Development Bank, our mission has always been to provide accessible and tailored financing to individuals and businesses across Fiji. 

In 1992, we achieved a significant milestone by obtaining our Credit Institution License from the Reserve Bank of Fiji, enabling us to expand our services to include investment products such as term deposits. Since then, we have continuously evolved, growing into Fiji’s largest non-bank licensed credit institution with nine branches across the country. 

To enhance our customer experience and reach new markets, we have established two specialized teams:

  • Vanua Finance – Supporting indigenous businesses and resource owners. 
  • Marama Finance – Empowering women entrepreneurs with financial solutions. 

We are also proud to share that we have recently been approved as a panel lender under the Fiji National Provident Fund’s (FNPF) Housing Withdrawal Assistance scheme. 

Our diverse range of financial products includes term deposits and loan facilities such as motor vehicle financing, working capital solutions, secured personal loans, secured commercial loans and unsecured personal loans. We have also expanded our portfolio to include:

  • Home Loan – Introduced in January 2025, featuring a zero-deposit option to help renters become first time homeowners. 
  • MSME Loan – Launched earlier in February 2025, designed to support women entrepreneurs and drive economic growth. 
  • Land Loan & Land Subdivision Loan – Launched in the end of February 2025, to make land ownership and development more accessible for Fijians. 

Through these strategic moves, Merchant Finance solidified its position in the financial landscape, catering to the financial needs of its customers and playing a pivotal role in the economic development of Fiji within the region. As we continue to grow, our focus remains on providing affordable, accessible, and flexible financing to help people of Fiji achieve their financial goals.
