In the maritime community of Mualevu Village, Vanua Balavu, Lau, Ledua Lasa and family have built more than a business—they have become a trusted part of everyday life for the people they serve.

What began as a vision to provide reliable transportation has grown into a business that supports the movement of people, goods and essential supplies across the island. Through hard work, dedication and a strong commitment to their community, the family continues to provide services that residents can rely on.

Today, the business offers passenger transport services, operates a village shop and supplies essential fuels including diesel, kerosene and premix. These services play an important role in supporting households, local businesses and community activities throughout Vanua Balavu.

A significant milestone was reached in June 2026 when the business expanded its transport services to include school transportation. The introduction of a dedicated 3-tonne truck has provided local families with a dependable and safe transport option for their children, further strengthening the business’s role within the community.

Like many businesses operating in Fiji’s maritime islands, the journey has come with its share of challenges. However, Ledua remains grateful for the continued support of the community and the opportunity to make a positive difference in people’s daily lives.

At the centre of the business is family. Ledua’s brother and sons work alongside him as drivers, helping deliver services with dedication, honesty and care. Together, they transport residents, government personnel and visitors while ensuring essential supplies remain accessible to the community.
